Jun 08, 2012· Got me a question I have a good 2 cylinder Briggs engine off of a riding mower, about 21 HP. It's a vertical shaft engine. Is there a reasonably simple way of converting it to horizontal shaft use to drive a sawmill? I'm considering doing this for a saw mill project. Is it worth the effort or am I just investing in a hatful of headaches?

The flywheel/flexplate will only attach to the crankshaft in one position, as the bolt holes are unevenly spaced. Install the bolts and tighten in a crisscross pattern. Refer to the Torque Specifications chart for the proper tightening torque values.

Jul 23, 2010· I was talking to my engine guy yesterday and told him i might be getting a innovators west balancer and ask him if he had ever used one or built a motor with one. He said that he had one in his shop and had used them before and they work great. But he told me the only problem with them is the bolt holes that you use to mount ur pulleys up with.
