Bauxite deposits in southern Europe, Jamaica, Haiti, and Turkey are associated with karst. Extensive bauxite deposits in Guinea (largest in the world), Australia, Brazil, India, Surinam, and Indonesia are lateritic deposits. Lateritic bauxites constitute more than threefourths of the world's bauxite resources.
