Feb 06, 2008· Most the ones I saw were in Europe. But I myself would not burn coal in a fireplace not set up for it. Not to mention although wood in a fireplace does create dust etc. Coal dust will leave a black soot everywhere throughout your home. My parents had a coal burning furnace and their home had alot of coal dust everywhere. Even in the attic.
